familytrip1FAQ:

  1. What will we eat? Sure Foot Adventures specializes in gourmet backcountry meals. We can cater to most diets, and are particularly vegetarian-friendly. We have lots of experience with picky eaters, too. Our group will decide our menu collectively and Sure Foot will provide all ingredients, snacks, and other food items. View our Food Options list for some examples.
  2. Do I need special equipment? Everything on our gear list is either provided by Sure Foot Adventures or is common and probably found in your closet. Though high-tech synthetic wicking materials are our favorites, we’ll help you design a camping wardrobe from what your family already owns.
  3. What if it rains? Sure Foot guides carry an enormous green tarp that they’ll pitch at our campsite. In the case of rain, we’ll be able to play games and read books under the tarp. But day hikes and creek walks are particularly fun in the rain. Since we’ll all have rain jackets or ponchos, the weather may be sloppy, but we’ll be able to stay relatively dry and enjoy ourselves.
  4. What will our sleeping arrangements be? Sure Foot Adventures’ tents are fully waterproof, seam-sealed, Kelty backpacking tents. Your family will have a private tent. We provide foam sleeping pads and 20°-rated sleeping bags. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own sleeping bag and pad if you have one you love.
  5. How will we get to our campsite? We will pack all of our gear into backpacks (provided) and walk 1/4 mile to our campsite alongside a creek. Sure Foot guides will help you pack and ensure that your kids only carry what they’re able. Though we ask kids to help carry at least some of their gear, your Sure Foot guides will help carry what your kids cannot.
