Intown Hikes

Want to avoid the long drive to the mountains but still experience the creeks, waterfalls, and forests? Our Intown Hikes are a perfect way to explore nature without leaving the city. With your Sure Foot Naturalist Guide, you’ll get to learn things about the flora and fauna you might never have noticed.

  • Difficulty rating: Easy
  • Suitable for: All ages
  • Distance: 1.5-3 miles
  • Elevation change: Minimal
  • Destinations include: Henderson Park, Whittier Mills, Reynolds Preserve, Arabia summit loop, Constitution Lakes, Cascade Springs, Morningside Nature Preserve, Hahn Woods & Lullwater Park, Heritage Park, Deep Dene & Frazer Forest
  • Dates & Times: Intown Hikes happen on Sundays and start at 2:00 pm
  • Fee: $20
  • Upcoming Hikes: May 19 at Henderson Park (registration closed), July 28 at Cascade Springs Nature Preserve (registration closed)

Evening Hikes

The forest looks completely different at sunset and after dark! The sounds, shadows, and colors are amazing. With Sure Foot, you can have complete confidence in exploring intown nature preserves at dusk.

Full Moon Hikes

Some of the finest nature preserves in the state exist within thirty miles of downtown Atlanta, and your Sure Foot Naturalist Guide can’t wait to show you the beauty of the metro-area’s forests.


North Georgia Mountain Hikes

You’ll want to bring your camera for these hikes. We have chosen our favorite destinations in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and invite you for a full-day adventure. Along the trail, your Sure Foot Naturalist Guide will introduce you to the flora and fauna of the mountains.

  • Destinations include: Rabun Bald, Dicks Creek Falls, Amicalola Falls, Panther Creek Falls, Vogel State Park, Blood Mountain, Rocktown
  • Dates & Times: North Georgia Mountain Hikes happen on Saturdays and start at 10:00 am
  • Fee: $40
