civilwarThe Battle of Atlanta:

Civil War Bicycle Tour

In collaboration with Homeschool Excursions (HSE).

Sure Foot’s Jonah McDonald will lead participants on a 10-mile bicycle tour of the Battle of Atlanta. We will travel to all of the key battle locations depicted in the famous 365 degree painting housed in the Atlanta Cyclorama: General McPherson’s last ride, Hardee’s night march, the fighting on Leggett’s Hill, the storming of the Railroad Cut, etc.

Jonah, a professional storyteller and history teacher, will tell us a new part of the story at each stop. By the end of the tour, we’ll be tired, but we’ll know what happened, why, and how it affected the conclusion of the Civil War.

Our class will end at the Atlanta Cyclorama and participants will have the option of viewing the painting after the class. Participants will need to bring their own bicycle, helmet, water, and snacks. Cyclorama admission is not included. The class begins at Grant Park in Atlanta.
