The Battle of Atlanta:
Civil War Bicycle Tour
In collaboration with Bicycle Tours of Atlanta and the B*ATL Event Festival
Sure Foot’s Jonah McDonald will lead participants on a 8-mile bicycle tour of the Battle of Atlanta. We will travel to all of the key battle locations depicted in the famous 365 degree painting housed in the Atlanta Cyclorama: General McPherson’s last ride, Hardee’s night march, the fighting on Leggett’s Hill, the storming of the Railroad Cut, etc.
Jonah, a professional storyteller and history teacher, will tell us a new part of the story at each stop. By the end of the tour, we’ll be tired, but we’ll know what happened, why, and how it affected the conclusion of the Civil War.
Our class will begin and end at the B*ATL headquarters in East Atlanta. Bicycles, helmets and water are provided!
When: Saturday, July 24, 2010, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Where: Meet at B*ATL headquarters in East Atlanta.
Fee: $40 ($45 on the day of the tour)
